I've begun a new series of wall comics at 14" x 18" that I'll hang so that both sides are visible. Don't mind me while I brainstorm on this... and don't worry, there's an overhaul coming when I document a great deal of new stuff. I'm in various stages of assembly and completion for these things, but a great many should be coming along shortly.
In the meantime, I'm excited to have some new opportunities to show around the country.
That's all for now,
I've begun working on a new book about FIRE in the west and in California. These 10 images explore fire in relation to industry, prison, and ecology . I would like to bind this sucker in redwood somehow. Without further explanation, enjoy these things! Inspired by my work with Peter Koch Printers, I'll be doing it up binding these things in an excellent manner. Love Printmaking's flexibility, again and again. #comics #comicbook #printmaking #letterpress #bookmaking #peterkoch
Set this installation up on short notice in response to the newfound attention on our racist/brutal police problem. Continuous criminal activity of this nation's police is being exposed and documented, prompting me to respond in some of my own work. Hey hey, y'all! Finally have a video/projection combination up and running. Lithograph and digital print with projection mapped video, roughly 70" x 20" just captured in rough on my phone. While using these old cartoon characters excites me in some ways, I think in the end the piece would be stronger if the characters were more anonymous. This is more about the amalgamation of various styles: the graphic retro with the photographic video than about the roles these characters
These guys are ready to print tomorrow! Everything is coming together. Just a little video filming and we'll be good to go!
Enjoying the size of this print, roughly 22" x 30" and real fat lines. Makes me happy. #cartoon #lithography #scoobydoo #shagandscoob
NEW GOODIES FOR YOUR GAZE:
Lithograph layer 9 of 10 down today on a new projection/litho combination print! Up next: a key image, scanning, possible photo-etching chine-collé, a few layers of high gloss silkscreened on to the windows, and some serious projection mapping! Key should be printed by, hmmm, let's say Saturday afternoon. I think I can get that done! Graining gets easier every time, yo. Most importantly though, I've got to start filming the video component of this
